Learning Support
The Learning Support Department is a fully integrated part of the school, ensuring communication between Form and Subject Teachers and the specialist Learning Support staff. Assessment and screening procedures are in place throughout the school, ensuring any Additional Needs are identified as early as possible in the child’s education. Following identification, appropriate support is arranged by Mrs Christine Baker, Learning Support Co-ordinator. This may take the form of differentiation in the classroom, additional help in the classroom with a Teaching Assistant, group support on a withdrawal basis, individual help with one of the school’s Learning Support Tutors or Access Arrangements for examinations. Parents are consulted and kept informed of recommended support and of any additional costs that may arise as a result of this, at all times.
