Bursaries & Scholarships

The Cathedral School would like the quality of education it offers to be available to parents of all backgrounds. It therefore provides a small number of financial bursaries each year. Bursaries are means tested, based on the means tested structure designed by the Independent Schools Bursar Association (ISBA).

Parents of pupils commencing Year 7 in the following September are invited to apply for a means tested bursary by the end of the previous January. Busaries are normally only awarded to pupils also qualifying for a scholarship. Whilst the awarded bursary is available up to the end of Year 11 (when parents may reapply upon the pupil entering the Sixth Form), we will require parents to provide financial information annually to access the ongoing need for a bursary.  The School retains the right to withdraw a financial bursary at any time, should the parents' finances change positively.
