Netball

Netball is one of the three major sports the girls are involved with at The Cathedral School and it is the team sport in which the girls participate during the Lent term. We field A and B teams from the majority of age groups and enjoy a weekly programme of fixtures, including Saturdays. Many of our girls represent the county and a number have been selected for the Welsh Talent Squad.

With excellent netball facilities on site, we are able to host regular tournaments including our own U14 Tournament which involves many local schools. However, due to the popularity of this activity we often use other facilities in the local area. 

Most lunchtimes incorporate squad practices which have become very popular in all age groups. These are led by experienced and enthusiastic coaching staff, two of whom are Welsh U21 players, whose expectations are always met by the commitment of the pupils.  Shooting practice is offered, as well as an after school club which competes in local leagues.

We have always entered the annual Independent Association of Preparatory Schools tournament for the U11, U12 and U13 age group which the girls have always thoroughly enjoyed.
