WOODWIND INSTRUMENTS

There are five Woodwind teachers and opportunities exist to learn the standard orchestral instruments as well as saxophone and recorder. The flute is particularly popular and there are two flute ensembles of differing levels of ability for seniors and juniors. The Woodwind players also have the opportunity to join one of the many mixed ensembles in the School, leading ultimately to the Jazz Band and Senior Orchestra. There is a link with the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and pupils have come from there to give master classes and concerts for our Woodwind players.
