The ‘fourth R’, after reading, writing, arithmetic, is respect. Every

member of the community learns to treat others with respect, and thus

to build rewarding, strong relationships. We teach children to behave

with kindness and good manners. The behaviour of pupils is very good,

achieved through an atmosphere of mutual respect with clear boundaries.

Estyn, the schools inspectorate, praised our ‘strong learning community’

at our last school inspection; such a community offers every pupil the

right environment in which to grow and to thrive. This is a supportive and

encouraging community which functions like a large family, with each

person knowing they are valued and have a part to play.
