EXAMINATION RESULTS 2010

The Cathedral School Llandaff, Cardiff's leading co-educational independent school, has reported 100% of its Year 11 pupils achieving 7 or more GCSEs at A*-C, with 63% of the grades achieved being  A* or A.

There were particularly strong performances in Mathematics, Sciences, ICT, History, German and Sport.

The Cathedral School's headmaster, Stephen Morris said: "We are delighted at these results and very proud of our pupils and staff.  The unique offering at the Cathedral School ensures that pupils achieve highly academically, without sacrificing their other interests; they continue to play sport at a very high level, excel in the arts and rehearse and perform wonderful music.

"We have recently announced ambitious development plans for the school, including the provision of a sixth form, and we look forward to sustaining academic excellence up to the age of 18 in due course."

The Cathedral School has a mixed ability intake but has been, for the last six years, one of the highest achieving schools in Wales at GCSE, with equally strong achievements for boys and girls.

The Year 11 cohort consisted of 57 boys and girls from Cardiff and the surrounding area.
