Sport

Sport plays an integral role in the education of pupils at the Cathedral School.  Each child, depending on their age, will have approximately two hours of Physical Education and two hours of games activities per week.

The School takes sport seriously and has a proud tradition of excellence.  We have achieved considerable regional and national success in team and individual sports.  An enviable proportion of our pupils have gained representative honours at County or International level.

At the Cathedral School, all levels of ability and experience are catered for.  Each pupil is encouraged to participate in major team games to develop their physical competence and confidence in a competitive environment; however, a programme of "second games" activities are on offer which run parallel with our team sports.

Fixtures against other schools regularly take place during the week with occasional Saturday morning fixtures.

"Second games" is designed to give pupils an insight into new and exciting sports that they may not have previously encountered.  This offers a wide range of activities and allows pupils the opportunity to be involved in sports such as:
