Cricket
The Cathedral School has had an outstanding tradition for cricket throughout its history. It is one of the three major boys' sports and competitive fixtures are generally played in the Summer Term. The School considers itself one of the top cricketing schools in South Wales; victories in every final of the County Championships in 2007 would confirm this statement. The under 15s enjoyed considerable success in the 2008 Lord Taverners Competition until a very strong Millfield team halted our progress in the tournament. The U13 team has also won the prestigious Kings' Gloucester 6 -a - side tournament for the past six years.
Many pupils represent their County a various levels, with an enviable number progressing to play for Wales, the West of England and England U17.
The School has an exceptionally fine cricket square, very well used by our pupils and other establishments including Glamorgan County Cricket Club and the MCC, a junior square, indoor and outdoor nets.
Coaching at the School caters for players of all standards and all pupils have an opportunity to represent their school. Links with local clubs also enhance the standard of the game at the Cathedral School.
