Music Outreach

During the last academic year a partnership project has developed between the Cathedral School and Rhondda Cynon Taf Music Service. This began with a Festival of Christmas Music held at Llandaff Cathedral in December 2007, when over 600 children from more than 20 primary schools came together with the boy and girl choristers to present a programme of carols old and new.

Such was the enthusiasm for this first evening that it was followed in June by a more ambitious transition project when pupils from two secondary and six primary schools presented a performance of Benjamin Britten's Rejoice in the Lamb. We hope that the experience of singing as part of such a large group, in the beautiful surroundings of the Cathedral will be an experience that the children will never forget. We also hope that it will inspire them to keep singing.
