English students enjoy performance of set text at The Globe Theatre

This week, the sixth form English students travelled to the Globe Theatre in London to watch their set text, Shakespeare’s play Measure for Measure being performed.

Following a brief tour of the theatre, they learnt about life in Tudor London and about the history of Shakespearean drama. Some of the students also went to a workshop on Shakespearean clothing which explained certain symbols used in the plays, before watching the play in the afternoon.

A highly useful trip for their A Level course and one that they enjoyed immensely.
