Brass Instruments

A complete range of brass instruments is taught, ranging from the cornet to the tuba. Pupils are given the opportunity to take part in the many brass ensembles from a very early stage in their musical development. Ensembles solely for brass players include the Junior and Senior brass groups and the Trumpet Ensemble. However, there are many more opportunities for players to take part in music of all different styles in the mixed ensembles which include the Concert Band, New Orleans Jazz group and the Swing Band as well as the School Orchestra. The Swing Band has recently performed at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham. Some members of the bands are also in the County Ensembles.
