Rock & Pop

Our Rock and Pop teacher has thirty pupils and this aspect of our work is obviously very attractive to many pupils who would not normally be involved in classical music groups. There is a pop group which is run by the pop teacher but pupils often form their own ensembles which are helped in a more informal way by the music staff as this can often suit them much better than the formality of official lessons. Many of the pop musicians go on to write pop music for their GCSE coursework and some excellent compositions have resulted from their background and experience in this style of music.
