Celebrating the European Day of Languages at Cathedral School

This week, we celebrated the European Day of Languages and the rich linguistic and cultural diversity that connects us. 

From Valencian paella to gyros with tzatziki, our lunches took us on a culinary tour of the continent. Our Languages Karaoke was a highlight, with pupils performing their favourite songs in German, French, Spanish and Italian with wonderful confidence and enthusiasm. MFL lessons embraced the European theme, with games, quizzes and a cultural understanding of the unifying power of languages. 

Pupils throughout the School were also filmed saying hello in the languages they speak beyond the classroom, showcasing more than 20 languages from around the world spoken within our Cathedral community, a powerful reminder that our linguistic diversity reaches far beyond Europe.
