Gould Cup and Willis Plate

Gould Cup and Willis Plate

This year’s Gould Cup and Willis Plate took place in the best conditions seen for a Lent Term event in over a decade.

Starting with the Infant races in the morning, our youngest pupils were cheered on by a full crowd of spectators - their energy and determination seting a joyful tone for the day.

In the afternoon, the pleasant weather provided the perfect setting for fast times and, with it, new course records:

In the Senior race, Siblings Sam and Bryony B delivered outstanding performances, each setting new course records. Sam claimed the Gould Cup title with a superb time of 18m27s, while Bryony retained her Willis Plate title and bettered her own 2022 record, crossing the line in 19m39s.

Freddie D and Verity M were first over the line in the Junior race. It was a particularly special afternoon for Verity and her family, with all four siblings receiving awards.

Well done to all runners for their commitment and effort, and for upholding the spirit of this long-standing school tradition.
