Senior 10 take on leadership training at Insole Court

Last Friday, our Senior 10 students took part in a leadership training day at the beautiful setting of Insole Court. Following a well-organised School Eucharist, the group explored the key expectations of their roles, focusing on leadership, listening, and service. They also met with their Heads of Houses, Mrs Anwyl Williams, Mr Stuart Bailey, Deputy Head, Wellbeing and the Head with regards to their roles, and the all-important team building.

Early discussions reflected a shared commitment to serving the school community and making a positive difference. Students identified their individual leadership styles - ranging from Polar Bears and Sea Horses to a Tiger and a Lion - which highlighted the diverse strengths they bring to the group.

Thoughtful discussions followed on their aims for the year ahead. Key priorities include supporting younger pupils - particularly positive communication and self-awareness - as well as contributing to the work of the school council and DIRECT (the school’s inclusion group).

Students were also trained as peer listeners, equipping them to provide safe and effective support to younger pupils facing social or academic challenges.

The day concluded with a series of team-building activities, with some students proving more confident than others when blindfolded!

Overall, it was a highly successful and engaging day, setting a strong foundation for the Senior 10 as they take on their leadership roles.
