It’s been a brilliant few weeks for cricket at CSL, with some exciting highlights across the Junior and Senior sections.
Year 3 and 4 pupils enjoyed a fantastic day at the Urdd Cricket Tournament in Pontcanna Fields, demonstrating impressive skill and sportsmanship. Both teams went undefeated in the group stages, before facing off against each other in a closely contested semi-final. The winning team advanced to the final and finished as overall runners-up out of 19 teams - an outstanding achievement and a reflection of the pupils’ dedication and teamwork.
Meanwhile, our U13 girls made history by playing the School’s first-ever regional cricket fixture on home ground against Cricket Wales West. Facing a challenging target of 134 runs, the team responded with determination and resilience, showing moments of exciting fielding and batting promise. While the result didn’t go their way, the match marked an important milestone in the development of girls’ cricket at CSL.
Well done to all players involved.
