Harvest Festival Celebrates Thankfulness and Generosity

There is something particularly special about gathering together as a whole school community to give thanks. This year's Harvest Festival brought together pupils, parents and staff from Years 1 to 6 for a joyful celebration led by Father Gareth, centred on gratitude, kindness and generosity.

The service was enriched by beautiful music from the Infant Choir, Cantate and our Choristers, alongside some much-loved hymns. Father Gareth encouraged us to appreciate the many blessings we enjoy and to remember those who may need our support. His message reminded us that harvest is about far more than gathering food; it is also about cultivating compassion, kindness and generosity in our everyday lives. Our readers, servers and helpers all played their part brilliantly, helping to make the service a truly memorable occasion.

The spirit of generosity continued through our Harvest Food Drive in support of Cardiff Foodbank. We are incredibly grateful to everyone in our school community who contributed so generously. Thanks to your kindness, an outstanding 280kg of food was collected, enough to provide emergency support for 24 families for three days.

Following the festival, our Year 6 Eco Warriors delivered the donations to Cardiff Foodbank, where they received a warm welcome and a guided tour of the facility. During their visit, the pupils learned how donations are sorted, organised and distributed to families facing difficult circumstances across the local community. The experience gave them a valuable insight into the important work carried out by the charity and the difference that community support can make.

We are especially proud of Mafalda, Chloe and Leo, who represented the School with great enthusiasm and helped deliver this substantial contribution to an important local cause.

A heartfelt thank you goes to all our families and staff for your generosity and support. Together, we have demonstrated the true meaning of harvest and made a genuine difference to others. We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved as a school community.
