This week, pupils had the opportunity to hear first-hand about life at Oxford and Cambridge from three of our former students.

Each speaker offered a unique perspective: Katy Sherwood (OL, 2016-2025) who will take up her place to study English at Christchurch, Oxford after a gap year, Ollie Rudolf (OL, 2016-2023) who is going into his third year of Medicine at Corpus Christi, Oxford and Modern Languages graduate, Arthur Wotton (OL, 2009-2016), who is currently completing his DPhil as well as lecturing and co-ordinating admissions interviews at Oxford.

Together, they shared their experiences of the application process, the realities of academic life, and the many opportunities, both intellectual and social, that Oxbridge offers. Their reflections gave current pupils valuable advice on preparing strong applications, managing the demands of study, and making the most of the extraordinary breadth of opportunities available.

The event was both informative and inspiring, encouraging our pupils to think ambitiously about their own futures. We are grateful to our Old Llandavians for giving their time and insights, and we look forward to seeing more of our pupils take up the challenge of applying to Oxford and Cambridge in the years ahead.
