Making Music

Making Music

On Tuesday, Year 1 and 2 pupils enjoyed an afternoon of music-making and discovery at our Learn an Instrument workshop.

Ms Gretton, along with some of our wonderful peripatetic music teachers, welcomed pupils and parents, before showcasing the variety of instruments available to learn at school.

Pupils were then invited to explore and try out a wide range of instruments, including strings, wind, brass, and percussion. With the opportunity to rotate in groups between each teacher, every child was able to get hands-on experience and discover something new – it was a fun and inspiring afternoon.

The workshop also highlighted the breadth and strength of music-making at CSL, where pupils are encouraged to develop their skills from a young age. With numerous ensembles, choirs, and performance opportunities throughout the year, pupils are able to experience the joy of making music as they progress and grow.

We look forward to seeing many of our pupils take their first steps on a new musical journey and to watching them flourish as part of our vibrant musical community. Parents who would like to find out more about instrumental lessons are warmly encouraged to contact Miss Jessica Boland, Administration Assistant - bolandjj@cathedral-schooll.co.uk or Ms Becky Gretton, Head of Primary Music - grettonrl@cathedral-school.co.uk
