Lunchtime Recital
16 October 2025
This week, Llandaff Cathedral was filled with a unique blend of sound and verse during a special Lunchtime Recital that captivated its audience.
The event was not only a celebration of music but also a tribute to the beauty of language and cultural diversity. It featured a series of musical performances, each interspersed with poetry readings in a variety of languages, including French, German, Spanish, Latin and Ancient Greek. This thoughtful interweaving of music and multilingual poetry created a rich tapestry of expression, evoking both emotional depth and intellectual reflection. Each poem, whether ancient or modern, added a layer of meaning and mood to the musical pieces, inviting the audience to experience the interplay between melody and language. Thank you to the talented participants who volunteered and did a fantastic job executing their performances.
