Respect, Kindness and Responsibility

Respect, Kindness and Responsibility

This week, Primary School Council led a whole-school assembly focusing on how we can all demonstrate respect, kindness and responsibility every day.

As part of their regular meetings, the councillors have been discussing how to further improve these important characteristics across the school. Together, they agreed on a set of simple, clear expectations that every pupil can follow. The key focuses are:

  • Using good manners – remembering to say pleasethank you and you’re welcome throughout the day.
  • Kindness Monitors in each class – a pupil in every Form will help to encourage and lead kindness initiatives, looking out for those small, positive actions that make a big difference.
  • Good table manners in the Refectory – including no talking with your mouth full.
  • Holding doors for others – to show respect and consideration when moving around school.
  • Respecting other people’s property – using the bag racks properly, looking after belongings and picking up blazers rather than leaving them on the floor.

The School Council spoke confidently and clearly, and we are very proud of the way they are helping to promote a culture of kindness and respect across the school.
